Images of Melaka

Almost a year later I finally post my Melaka trip set, I'd like to blame #Instagram maybe for fulfilling my need for wanting to share with the world what I see on a day to day basis.  Though maybe just maybe I'll do a sort of mash up between the two, that would be something I'd like to see I guess, a mash up between blogging and Instagram.  There's an idea, anyway enjoy this set.  I have mixed emotions looking back on this, considering I edited these over a year ago.  Be it due to time or maturity, one or the other I feel these photos do not justice to the experience we had while in Melaka.  For that I apologise and moving forward I plan on doing better in any photo endeavour!  Cheers!

Hotel Puri: Our home for two nights in the port city of Malaka.

On our first night in Malaka me and mom went wandering around looking for a midnight snack.

Plants taking root on the roof tops and brick walls of the old town.

The roof tops of the town with a 5 star hotel and radio tower in the background.

I'm not sure what it is but it was the most affluent looking building on our street.

Kedai Kopi Chung Wah, a mouthful for a name but ohhhh what a mouthful when it came to the food, please note the long line and mom's look of frustration at it.

This is an example of the local Rickshaws they have for tourists.

Maybe this guy owns that white house I saw earlier.

The Christ Church, Clock Tower and Stadhuys, landmark buildings of Melaka.

These are the excavated ruins of the original Melaka Fort from centuries past.

This was across the street, obviously it was a big fort.

My sister.

That's a Maritime museum.

Melaka's water wheel in Black and White.

Mom and her Soursop soda, I forgot the English name for the darned fruit, it was pretty good too.

Another Museum.

A graveyard by the chapel on the hill.

These are tombstones if I remember right.

It's a really nice red isn't it?

A closer photo of the Christ Church.

Melaka a world heritage city, the size of a town, all two streets of it.

The Church of St. Francis Xavier.

This was where AFC's next celebrity chef had a scene so I wanted to get a good photo for the heck of it.

Fresh seafood lunch, cheap, greasy and good.

Mom still enjoying the view of Melaka even though she's clearly tired.

This was two doors down from that gorgeous white house, yet to be restored maybe?

One of the many street performers on Jonker Street.

Last School Holiday (I hope)

Finally vacation sort of, my preliminary exam week just wrapped up though I owe one of my instructors an exam that I'm gonna take when I get back next year. That and I have 2 projects to work on whenever I can find the time for it.

That's all out the window right now though I may plan on picking some of it up during the break. The point is it's my break, it's the holidays, and it's my last extended free time as a student if I graduate this coming march.

So the way I see it, I have to have a blast this last time out. I know I have been neglecting my blog cause I had to focus on school for a while but now that it's over I intend on having a few more entries, they may come out shorter but I don't see much harm in that cause I foresee quite a few of them in the next 3 weeks.

So okay 3 days into the break I find myself in Manila in the midst of a 5 day lay over before we start hopping southeast Asia. So far I've gotten 6 Christmas gifts, already opened them, sorry but I couldn't resist! So the count is 2 pairs of shoes, one new toy, 2 shirts, and green that I hope to flip for a bag insert either later or tomorrow. With that I would like to say MANY THANKS TO MY THREE NINANGS (godmothers) and MY MOM for all the presents! I love you guys to bits and you've made this an awesome start to the holidays!!!

Now as for the social aspect of my life so far of this trip I've started it off with two spectrum parties. The first being the birthday of my one year old godson, who I still owe a present too. The second being a house party with a few of my old Manila dorm mates.

I love my godson and he is totally the most adorable kid that I do feel guilty that I have not gotten him a birthday or Christmas gift so I hope to fulfil my godfather duties as soon as I get back and who knows maybe I'll fulfil it while out on this adventure.

With the second party I got the sense of great friendship and timeless brotherhood. NO HOMO guys but I love you guys no matter how little time I did or do get to spend with you all. More so with two of my bestest friends I mean we turned a one night chill out session in to a two day total blast from the past. I know all we did was play computer, eat Mexican food and sleep but it totally felt like we were back at the dorm. Not that that was all we did during our dorm tenure of course, ehe.

So anyway that was just the start of this 3 week roller coaster, today and maybe tomorrow we're going to make the last of our preparations before flying out. I honestly can't wait to get this next adventure on! I know it's going to be something amazing!
